An important lecture

I came across this lecture which is taking place tomorrow in Wales. A bit of a commute unless you live there of course. Fortunately it is being streamed so those of us who are geographically challenged can still hear it.

I think it may have important and relevant messages for us as we face some of the most difficult welfare reforms in recent history.

Skeletons in Uni's glass cupboard, Council pushing people into residential care, Concerns in Queens Speech, Orange nightmare

My son George was at our house playing with his two year old son Isaac and mentioned that it had been awhile since we’d done anything together, just the two of us. (He’s 33 by the way!) So after a little thought, and as we both love cricket, I agreed to try and get tickets to watch England play the South Africans at the Kia Oval in July. I set about using the online booking service. I went through a relatively straightforward but somewhat time consuming activity to register and then book.

New assault on equality, Court ruling to impact benefit system, Anti- inclusion campaign, Bleak struggle for support, Unsafe vehicle conversions, GP vote to pressure government, Treasury criticised

Welcome! Just to let you know that this will be my last news blog until mid June as we’re off to Spain in our motorhome. I’m desperately keen to try and locate the big round orange thing that allegedly lives somewhere in the sky!

Spanish Adventure Part 1

So we embarked on our Spanish adventure leaving Portsmouth for Santander just as the UK began to experience its first heatwave in goodness knows how long!

Spanish Adventure Part 2

So where was I, oh yes we were travelling west following the Spanish coast. We arrived at our destination a beautiful little campsite just near Candas. Not many people on the site but all the accessible facilities were fine aside from the restaurant which wasn't open as the season hasn't started. Spectacular views of cliffs and sea and a very short walk to the lovely little town of Candas itself.
